How to solve TcsCDP Pro Plus Scanner installation problem

I have the installation video in my DVD, follow the video but cannot activate the generator because there is no activation button in my software. I chatted with our engineers, and they say you should click the blank behind “hwid” and “Delphi”, which emphasize in the following picture. If you did not click the places, the activation button will not be shown.

How to solve Cummins Inline 5 update problem

An Inline 5 user posted his problem in Cummins forum. He came across the following when using Cummins Inline 5 with the version V7.6. A note message asks for an upgrade: This version of INSITE has expired. To continue using INSITE, please upgrade it to the latest version.

How to update Cummins Inline 5 to V7.6.2?

How to run MINI VCI for TOYOTA TIS Techstream 8.x on Windows 7/8 64-bit?

My MINI VCI cable arrived several days ago, as user manual suggestion MINI VCI is supposed to work it with Windows XP, but to contrary the popular belief, I get it working under Windows 64-bit and would like to share the instructions, I hope it will save someone a headache of dealing with dual boot and virtual machines with Windows XP.
Package:
MINI VCI cable for TOYOTA TIS Techstream, I‘ve bought mine from EOBD2 for around $30. The cable is about 4’ long, with a box and “MINI-VCI J2534 Standard OBDII Communication Interface” sticker.
The cable comes with a mini CD with drivers and Toyota Techstream software; it is advertised as “Newest V8.30.023”. The “newest” refers to the version of bundled Techstream, rather than the cable firmware.
My Windows 64-bit Computer:
A laptop running 64-bit version of Windows 7/8. Mine is actually Windows 8 x64, but for Windows 7 the configuration procedure should be identical.
CD software and driver Copy or download
Copy the software and driver in the CD, and paste it into my local disk C, Note: you can paste into any one local disk as you like.

Install MVCI Driver for TOYOTA
this is the step which most people stumble upon as “MVCI Driver for TOYOTA.msi” installer indeed does not work on Windows x64. The workaround is to install it manually, as follows:
a.    Open Command Prompt in Administrator Mode. Navigate to the c:\temp folder and run the following command line:
MVCI-Driver-for-TOYOTA.msi-1
msiexec /a “C:\temp\MVCI Driver for TOYOTA.msi” /qb TARGETDIR=c:\temp\mvci
This will extract the content of the MSI file to the c:\temp\mvci folder:
b.    Delete the “MVCI Driver for TOYOTA.msi” there and then copy the whole
content of c:\temp\mvci to “C:\Program Files (x86)\XHorse Electronics\MVCI Driver for TOYOTA TIS”
c.    Plug the MINI VCI cable to the USB port.
d.    Open the Device Manager and locate two failing devices in the list. Both will appear with yellow icon (usually under “Other”), indicating that Windows failed to install drivers for them. Now, right click each failing device, select Install Driver, then “Browse my Computer…” and point it for “C:\Program Files (x86)\XHorse Electronics\MVCI Driver for TOYOTA TIS” (enable the “include subfolders” flag). Click “Next” and wait until drivers are installed.
You should now see two new devices: “Universal Serial Bus Controllers\USB Serial Converter” and “Ports (COM & LPT)\USB Serial Port (COM5)”.
e.    Run the FirmwareUpdateTool.exe from the “C:\Program Files (x86)\XHorse Electronics\MVCI Driver for TOYOTA TIS”. Click “Device Info”. You should see the “device connected” screen like this:

If you see this, it means your MINI VCI cable is up and running under Windows x64 and can be used by other programs, such as Techstream.
IMPORTANT: Some people have reported that updating firmware on this “cheap clone” cable may render it dead. So, the Firmware Update Tool should not be used for anything, but checking that the device is connected and working properly.
2.    Now install Techstream software using “Techstream 8.30.023.exe” and then update to 8.10 with “Techstream_Update_V8.10.021.exe”. Do not launch it yet.
To activate it, copy the IT3System.ini you extracted before to “C:\Program Files (x86)\Toyota Diagnostics\Techstream\Env\”.
Alternatively, you may copy two files from the C:\Program Files (x86)\XHorse Electronics\MVCI Driver for TOYOTA TIS\ProgramFilesFolder\Toyota Diagnostics\Techstream\Env” to “C:\Program Files (x86)\Toyota Diagnostics\Techstream\Env\”, which seem to do the trick as well.
3.    Registry Hack: for Techstream to recognize MINI-VCI under Windows x64, the Registry has to be modified as:

The attached “mvci-x64.zip” contains the *.REG file that has to be imported to the Registry (extract, right click, then Merge)
A trick here is the “Wow6432Node” in key path, which is the location the 32-bit applications running on 64-bit OS get redirected to when accessing Registry. The “PassThruSupport.04.04? seems to be the place Techstream looks into for available VIMs (sub-keys appear in the “VIM Select” menu in Techstream).
4.    Run Techstream. Go to Setup | VIM Select menu and select the “XHorse – MVCI
5.    Connect MVCI cable to your car’s OBDII interface, turn ignition on, then click “Connect to Vehicle” in Techstream. Wait. Then wait again (by the way, you’ll be doing that a lot with this cable  ). If everything works, you will be prompted to confirm car year/model after which you’ll get to the diagnostic interface.

So far, I tested the cable with 2013 4Runner, 2004 Sienna and 1997 Camry LE/4cyl, and it seems to work fine with all of them. Absence of (L) line connection means no support for ECU re-flashing (which is not something I’m comfortable doing myself anyway). Option customization/clearing DTC is possible (already verified).
Overall, not bad for a $30 gadget, in my opinion.

Important note on DA-VINA 2534 upgrade

Maybe you have heard that DA-VINA 2534 Jaguar Land Rover J2534 Pass-Thru Interface hardware has been updated to the newest V4.4. The new hardware is claimed to support 2014 Land Rover vehicles. But we are sorry to tell you that the DA-VINA 2534 you bought from us should not be upgraded.

One of our customers had tried to update his DA-VINA 2534, but only got his device locked. This is why we suggest you not to try the latest DA-VINA 2534 hardware but just use the V4.0 one. However, although the hardware is not available, the latest DA-VINA 2534 software is totally safe to install.

How to fix Buick GL8 acceleration problem?

I repaired a Buick GL8 that could not accelerate while driving last week. According to the car owner, the Buick was equipped with a 3.0 engine and a 4T65E automatic transmission, with 120,000 km on it.

The owner told me that it could not speed up when he was driving the car, which made it extremely difficult to climb up a slope. Every time he came to an upslope, he had to press the accelerator pedal all the way to push the car up the slope.

After I received the car, I first started to diagnose the problem by using GM Tech 2 diagnostic tool. Test result from the OBD2 tool showed that ther automatic transmission of the car was broken, so that the vehicle could not go faster than 130km/h.

Then I troubleshot the automatic transmission control system with the GM Tech 2 again, and pulled two error codes: P0756 and P0758. The former means 2-3 shift solenoid B circuit fault, while the latter means 2-3 shift solenoid B electrical fault.

After troubshooting the problem, I went a test drive and checked the data flow while driving. Then I pulled out the plug connecting the automative transmission, and tested the resistance of 2-3 shift solenoid valve, which turned out to be infinite. When I tested the resistance with other solenoid valves, their numbers were normal.

Firstly, run the key maker interface according to the vehicle and read information in the "Info" window. Watch theData location field describes the memory chip. Find out the chip inside of the immobilizer and read it. Save the read data (dump).
Click the "OPEN IMMOBILIZER FILE" button and load the saved dump.
The program will analyse the dump.
If the dump is correct the "WRITE" button will become active and the "Keys" window will display the range of key numbers that can be created.
Take a look at the "Info" window, the Allowed transponder field.
Ensure you use a transponder exactly the indicated type.
Place the transponder into the coil.
Choose the key position you want create in the "Keys" window.
Click the "WRITE" button.
This starts the writing process and transponder will be stored with the appropriate data.
At this point you may be asked to save a new immobilizer dump.
The program displays a standard File Save dialog where you have to save the data.
After this you will be informed about the new data saved and must be written into the immobiliser.

Ford Focus 2013 key program with key Pro M8

I got one key pro M8 key programming tool  for you to add keys and make new keys from EOBD2.NET at China, and today I test successfully to Ford Focus 2013 key program with key Pro M8.Now,let me step-by-step instruction it with you.

1. Connect the key pro M8 with the car, insert the key into the car ignition switch, then the immo light on the dashboard flashes, which means the key pro m8 enter into the car immobilizer system, the immobilizer system has been already active.

2. KWP2000 Plus ECU REMAP Flasher Tuning Tool can read and analyze current ECU software, upgrade the ECU software with a re-mapped file, and repair ECUS with software problems or corruption.C.Repair ECUs with software problems or corruption.Do you know how to read and write data via KWP2000 PLUS?


Install driver:
- Install the driver package to your notebook/pc.
- Connect the KWP2000 PLUS Flasher to a free USB port.
- At the window, point to the folder where you installed the driver package.
- Reboot.

How to READ data from a supported ECU:
- Connect the KWP2000 PLUS ECU Flasher to computer USB port and to the diagnostic port of the car
- Start the communication software in the computer.
- Turn ignition key to “ON” position. (Do not crank or start the engine).
- Select the ECU type you want to read/write from the given list.
- Select additional options (if needed)
- Click the READ button to read out the original data (where supported).
- Save the file to the Hard Disk,Edit or Forward it another folder

How to WRITE data to a supported ECU:
- Connect the KWP2000 PLUS ECU Flasher to computer USB port and to the diagnostic port of the car
- Start the communication software in the computer.
- Turn ignition key to “ON” position. (Do not crank or start the engine).
- Select the ECU type you want to read/write from the given list.
- Select additional options (if needed).
- Click the WRITE button and select the file you want to write
- Follow the instructions on screen
- Switch the ignition key to “OFF” position and wait for 10 seconds before starting the engine again.

Reading the ECU EEPROM chip:
First choose the vehicle and type of the engine's ecu you want to read/write from the given list. If you have any doubt about the type of ECU, you can verify it from the program.
When the dialogue window appears just click on INFO tab and wait for the program to communicate with the ECU.
A moment later, the information about the ECU type will be shown. Just click on “READ” tab to assure that you will have a copy of the original file (in case there is some problem later).
Choose where you want to save the original file and name it.To simplify your work, name it same as the numbers that appear in the window display on “Information of the ECU”.
Now the program will prompt you to turn the ignition key to “OFF” position. Do as instructed and then click the “OK” button.

Writing into the ECU EEPROM chip:
Choose the vehicle and type of the ECU (as in the“READ” process) click on INFO tab. OPEN the file prepared for your vehicle or ECU type.
From the display, on the right window you will see the reference of the ECU that corresponds to the open file. To confirm that this information matches with our ECU type.Verify the numbers in both windows are thesame just to be on the save side.
If you are absolutely sure that everything you did is correct. Click on PROG tab, the system will now erase the ECU flash memory and program it with the new file. Please DO NOT INTERRUPT during this process.
When it had finished writing, just turn the ignition key to “OFF”position and then confirm by clicking the OK button.Wait for 10 seconds and it is done! Now you can enjoy the new ECU program.

NOTE:
For some cases, VAG cars (AUDI, VOLKSWAGEN, SEAT AND SKODA) before attempting to flash the ECU chip, the instruments panel must be de-activated. Open the fuse box cover; remove the 5A fuses as indicated in red (refer figure below).With the instruments panel power cut off you can try to access the ECU.

Troubleshoot the problem of Skoda ASR, ABS and tire pressure lights on



Today I am willing to share with you a repair case on troubleshooting the problem of Skoda ASR, ABS and tire pressure lights on.
My client Bill told me that he was just driving his car Skoda Octavia way home, but the warning lights on dashboard sound. ASR, ABS, and tire pressure monitoring lights on. He stopped the car at the moment, which is an excellent react to car drivers to ensure the security.
After 2 minutes, Bill restart up the engine and found only ABS light on and slow down his driving speed and found ABS lights off and arrived home without extra lights or alarming. Thus, he thought it might happen occasionally and ignored it. (This is a point that misses by many people, in which will affect our car driving safety).
In the next three days, warning lights on suddenly, so he sent his car to me.

My troubleshooting steps:
1. I had an observation on it and found all three lights on at the same when car has a big turn.
2. Remove every car wheel to have a check one by one and found there is surface wear in induction coil in one car tyre, leading to combine several lines together and respectively separate them and fixed them well.
3. Clear trouble codes with obd2 code scanner (here I am using professional coder ds708, as to DIYers, I suppose you use iobd2diagnostic tool for android or ios system, more conveniently and efficiently); three lights off and troubleshoot!
In conclusion: Skoda tyre pressure monitoring system compares tire pressure via ABS control module. If there is something wrong with ABS, tire pressure monitoring system is abnormal; and ASR and ABS are closely link, so three lights on at the same time.
More reasons lead to these faults may be mainly dirty wheel speed sensor (filled with rusted), or broken sensor, worn sensor harness and so on.
