Install driver:
- Install the driver package to your notebook/pc.
- Connect the KWP2000 PLUS Flasher to a free USB port.
- At the window, point to the folder where you installed the driver package.

How to READ data from a supported ECU:
- Connect the KWP2000 PLUS ECU Flasher to computer USB port and to the diagnostic port of the car
- Start the communication software in the computer.
- Turn ignition key to “ON” position. (Do not crank or start the engine).
- Select the ECU type you want to read/write from the given list.
- Select additional options (if needed)
- Click the READ button to read out the original data (where supported).
- Save the file to the Hard Disk,Edit or Forward it another folder

How to WRITE data to a supported ECU:
- Connect the KWP2000 PLUS ECU Flasher to computer USB port and to the diagnostic port of the car
- Start the communication software in the computer.
- Turn ignition key to “ON” position. (Do not crank or start the engine).
- Select the ECU type you want to read/write from the given list.
- Select additional options (if needed).
- Click the WRITE button and select the file you want to write
- Follow the instructions on screen
- Switch the ignition key to “OFF” position and wait for 10 seconds before starting the engine again.

Reading the ECU EEPROM chip:
First choose the vehicle and type of the engine's ecu you want to read/write from the given list. If you have any doubt about the type of ECU, you can verify it from the program.
When the dialogue window appears just click on INFO tab and wait for the program to communicate with the ECU.
A moment later, the information about the ECU type will be shown. Just click on “READ” tab to assure that you will have a copy of the original file (in case there is some problem later).
Choose where you want to save the original file and name it.To simplify your work, name it same as the numbers that appear in the window display on “Information of the ECU”.
Now the program will prompt you to turn the ignition key to “OFF” position. Do as instructed and then click the “OK” button.

Writing into the ECU EEPROM chip:
Choose the vehicle and type of the ECU (as in the“READ” process) click on INFO tab. OPEN the file prepared for your vehicle or ECU type.
From the display, on the right window you will see the reference of the ECU that corresponds to the open file. To confirm that this information matches with our ECU type.Verify the numbers in both windows are thesame just to be on the save side.
If you are absolutely sure that everything you did is correct. Click on PROG tab, the system will now erase the ECU flash memory and program it with the new file. Please DO NOT INTERRUPT during this process.
When it had finished writing, just turn the ignition key to “OFF”position and then confirm by clicking the OK button.Wait for 10 seconds and it is done! Now you can enjoy the new ECU program.

NOTE:
For some cases, VAG cars (AUDI, VOLKSWAGEN, SEAT AND SKODA) before attempting to flash the ECU chip, the instruments panel must be de-activated. Open the fuse box cover; remove the 5A fuses as indicated in red (refer figure below).With the instruments panel power cut off you can try to access the ECU.

Troubleshoot the problem of Skoda ASR, ABS and tire pressure lights on



Today I am willing to share with you a repair case on troubleshooting the problem of Skoda ASR, ABS and tire pressure lights on.
My client Bill told me that he was just driving his car Skoda Octavia way home, but the warning lights on dashboard sound. ASR, ABS, and tire pressure monitoring lights on. He stopped the car at the moment, which is an excellent react to car drivers to ensure the security.
After 2 minutes, Bill restart up the engine and found only ABS light on and slow down his driving speed and found ABS lights off and arrived home without extra lights or alarming. Thus, he thought it might happen occasionally and ignored it. (This is a point that misses by many people, in which will affect our car driving safety).
In the next three days, warning lights on suddenly, so he sent his car to me.

My troubleshooting steps:
1. I had an observation on it and found all three lights on at the same when car has a big turn.
2. Remove every car wheel to have a check one by one and found there is surface wear in induction coil in one car tyre, leading to combine several lines together and respectively separate them and fixed them well.
3. Clear trouble codes with obd2 code scanner (here I am using professional coder ds708, as to DIYers, I suppose you use iobd2diagnostic tool for android or ios system, more conveniently and efficiently); three lights off and troubleshoot!
In conclusion: Skoda tyre pressure monitoring system compares tire pressure via ABS control module. If there is something wrong with ABS, tire pressure monitoring system is abnormal; and ASR and ABS are closely link, so three lights on at the same time.
More reasons lead to these faults may be mainly dirty wheel speed sensor (filled with rusted), or broken sensor, worn sensor harness and so on.

How to use Maxidiag EU702 Scanner to reset OBD2 codes?

2012 Toyota Lexus IS300 won’t start normally

Last week, a friend called me that his Toyota Lexus IS300 would not start normally and then took it into my shop. If I was not mistaken, his Lexus was bought just two years ago. It was unusual for a two-year-old vehicle to have engine damage.

When he took the vehicle to my shop, I first unlock the car with remote, and it could be opened smoothly. Then I pressed the start button, the steering wheel would move, but the vehicle would not start, so as the dashboard. My first guess was its battery was lack of electricity.

I connected the car with Jump Start Emergency Charger and tried to start it again, the car still did not work. When I pressed the brake pad, the start button turned to green from amber. This meant it had detected the car key and had received authorization from ECU. Then I tried to relieve the anti-theft system. Then I tried to troubleshoot its ECU by using XHORSE MVCI. The system could be relieved easily, while the dashboard only illuminated for a while and then died. I tried to restart it again, but the engine just did not work, and therefore I could not use a car diagnostic tool.

The phenomena meant the car engine could not switch to 1G – 0N model. I then got down inspecting its fuses, relay, engine switch, engine control units, engine control module according to its circuit diagram. An hour later, I found a cable in power supply control was damaged.

After I replaced the damaged ECU, the vehicle could be started smoothly.
